As Senior Equity & Derivatives Trader at Innovative Portfolios, Nathan draws from his extensive knowledge of derivatives and equity trading to manage and develop option overlay strategies for the company. He also handles day-to-day trading for puts and index income with analysis for the portfolios, and he assists in reporting trades and managing risks on trades for the firm’s separately managed accounts.

Nathan began working in the financial services industry at Schwab in 2007. During his tenure, he served as a Senior Registered Options Principal for the firm, where he directed a wide range of activities: writing and guiding firm policy for derivatives products, assessing risks associated with option and futures products, and directing solutions to mitigate the impact of risks for clients, to name a few. With his extensive knowledge of specialized products and of company policies and offerings, Nathan led training initiatives for brokers and teams alike across equity trading, derivatives, and margin departments. His experience with derivatives also allowed him to work with senior leadership as they directed the integration of Schwab and TD Ameritrade; Nathan’s ability to identify key differences between the firms led to the facilitation of a more consistent client experience.

Nathan received B.S. degrees in Psychology and Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. He currently lives in Westfield, Indiana, with his wife and son. When not at work, Nathan has a variety of hobbies, from repurposing furniture to drawing to spending time with his family.
